The MRC-University of Glasgow Centre for Virus Research conducts cutting-edge virology studies. Our specialists cover diverse areas including molecular virology, disease mechanisms, host-pathogen interactions, immune responses to viruses, viral ecology, clinical studies, outbreak tracking, computational modeling, and genomic analysis. As part of the School of Infection and Immunity, the CVR represents Britain's most extensive dedicated virology research hub, uniting scientists investigating both human and animal viruses and related illnesses. The center offers state-of-the-art resources and fosters interdisciplinary collaborations while delivering comprehensive training in modern virological research methods. Our research spans multiple virus families including arboviruses, herpesviruses, hepatitis viruses, influenza viruses, retroviruses, and papillomaviruses.
