Our History of Art program boasts a dynamic student body engaged in numerous research initiatives and external partnerships.
Research supervision covers diverse areas such as: European art history spanning medieval, Renaissance, and 17th-19th century periods Modernist movements with focus on Dada and Surrealism Chinese artistic traditions theoretical approaches to art, including gender studies and post-1945 collecting practices technical examination of historical and contemporary artistic materials, methods, and studio techniques studies in material culture, decorative arts, and design history research into fashion, textiles, and conservation science. Through our strong connections with Glasgow Life and the city's cultural institutions – including museums, galleries, performance venues, and creative industries – the University of Glasgow provides an exceptional environment for advanced arts education.
