Hispanic Studies is a compact yet energetic research department with robust ties to academic institutions across the USA, Latin America, Spain, and Portugal.
Graduate students can engage in diverse activities via the Graduate School of Arts and Humanities, becoming part of the dynamic postgraduate community in the School of Modern Languages and Cultures. This environment fosters interdisciplinary collaboration with joint supervision. Our program has historically attracted students from Chile, Europe, the USA, Brazil, and Mexico, and we enthusiastically encourage international applicants. Through our strong connections with Glasgow Life and the city's numerous cultural institutions—including museums, galleries, performance venues, international festivals, and creative industries—the University of Glasgow provides an exceptional setting for advanced arts education.
The College of Arts Graduate School cultivates a collaborative, interdisciplinary atmosphere for all research students. We provide comprehensive resources, courses, and skill-building opportunities. Within the College of Arts, students in both taught and research programs thrive in an intellectually and culturally rich environment. Every school and discipline within the college produces groundbreaking, influential research.
