Astronomy explores the physical universe, encompassing everything from our planet and solar system to distant galaxies across the cosmos. Our program enhances classroom learning with hands-on experiences at our observatory, planetarium, and telescope facilities. Students engage with cutting-edge astrophysics research led by field experts. The program develops scientific understanding along with mathematical and analytical abilities, preparing graduates for diverse career paths. Numerous alumni pursue advanced degrees like MSc or PhD programs in astronomy specialties or related fields before launching their careers.
Both our single and joint Physics degree programs hold accreditation from the Institute of Physics. Completing the MSci program positions graduates to achieve Chartered Physicist status.
