The Master's in International Relations is tailored for individuals passionate about tackling today's most critical global issues, including international conflicts, terrorism, climate change, and rapid globalization. Grounded in international relations theory, it teaches you to apply research methodologies to address society's urgent questions. The program provides in-depth knowledge of how international relations approaches complex political challenges while training you in analytical techniques for political data. Specializations include International Relations Theory, Security Studies, Global Governance, and Political Economy, with three focused pathways: General, Global China, and Global Russia. You'll engage with research initiatives like the Global Security Network and Glasgow Human Rights Network, and participate in a Brussels study trip visiting institutions such as the EU Parliament and NATO. The program develops transferable skills like critical analysis and effective communication, with dedicated career support. Career opportunities span diplomacy, international organizations, media, government, NGOs, and academia, with many graduates progressing to PhD programs.
2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in Social Sciences, Law, or Economics.
We may also accept degrees in Business.
We may sometimes accept degrees at 2.2 Hons or non-UK equivalent.
Work experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
