The conventional military threats that shaped international security throughout much of the 20th century have rapidly given way to evolving and resurging security concerns. Global Security enables you to explore both traditional and non-traditional security risks in today's world. This program enhances your understanding of critical security issues affecting our dynamic global, national, and community landscapes - spanning from armed conflicts between nations, acts of terrorism, rebellions, digital and blended warfare to pandemics, population movements, and environmental shifts.
With its multidisciplinary approach, the program encourages students to consider diverse viewpoints on security concepts. You'll tackle modern security complexities by gaining both theoretical frameworks and practical policy skills for thorough assessment and effective solutions. The curriculum is complemented by special events including expert-led masterclasses, career development sessions, and an educational visit to a European hub hosting key security organizations. These trips provide direct exposure to policy-making environments and career pathways (past destinations have included Brussels, Paris, and London).
