The Master's in Education for Sustainable Futures is a cross-disciplinary, community-focused program aimed at creating real-world impact. This program helps you cultivate both practical and creative abilities to shape sustainable futures through educational approaches. With an emphasis on adult, community, and youth education, it adopts a culturally aware and ecologically conscious perspective to rethink teaching methods in response to today's sustainability challenges and possibilities, both in local and global contexts.
Our learner-focused, interactive, and diverse teaching methods will enhance your self-awareness as both students and teachers, connecting these roles to broader historical, political, cultural, and societal influences. The curriculum deepens your engagement with current discussions on sustainability and education, including the UN Sustainable Development Goals. You'll develop critical thinking skills to question dominant perspectives while highlighting local and community-driven knowledge and solutions. For your final project, you'll have the chance to collaborate with various community organizations across Central Scotland.
