Our Italian faculty specialize in modern era research and offer postgraduate guidance across various aspects of contemporary Italian literature and culture.
This expertise is enhanced by the wider academic resources of the School of Modern Languages and Cultures and the College of Arts. Through strong collaborations with Glasgow Life and the city's numerous cultural institutions - including museums, galleries, performance venues, international festivals, and creative industries - the University of Glasgow provides an exceptional setting for advanced arts education. The College of Arts Graduate School fosters an interdisciplinary, collaborative atmosphere for all research students, offering comprehensive support through services, courses, and skill-building programs. Within this dynamic intellectual and cultural setting, the college nurtures a diverse student body engaged in both taught and research-based master's programs. Every department maintains cutting-edge, influential research initiatives.
The Master of Research program combines coursework with independent research. Students complete 60 to 80 credits of taught modules alongside original research that makes a meaningful contribution to their field.
