Information Studies fosters a dynamic research environment with an expanding community of doctoral and master's students investigating diverse subjects within information studies, museology, digital culture, and digital humanities.
The program maintains an active research atmosphere examining various themes across information studies, digital culture, and digital humanities. The rapid pace of technological advancement, coupled with the exponential growth of complex digital data, presents substantial challenges for how we manage and preserve information both individually and collectively. Core principles including identity, memory, authenticity, trust, transparency, accountability, representation, engagement, preservation, and accessibility form crucial components of contemporary information studies. These issues necessitate novel theoretical frameworks, enhanced comprehension of information's essence, and creative solutions that bridge theory and application, connect people with information, and harmonize technology with human values.
Our Master of Research program combines structured coursework with independent research components. Students complete 60 to 80 credits of taught modules alongside original research that makes a meaningful contribution to the field's knowledge base.
