Politics examines how power and influence are allocated in societies and their impact on decision-making processes across nations and states. The curriculum covers diverse areas such as international relations, political philosophy, and UK governance, with options to participate in expanding international exchange programs.
Throughout your studies, politics encourages multiple perspectives and lively discourse. Our teaching approach emphasizes interactive learning, combining thematic lectures with in-depth seminar discussions. You'll grapple with moral dilemmas like the boundaries of governmental authority, visions of an ideal society, and international responsibilities. Practical analyses will include comparing political systems and cultures, as well as examining global diplomatic relations.
A politics degree opens doors to numerous professions. You'll hone critical research, analytical, and communication skills while building strong writing capabilities. Career development opportunities include employability workshops, training sessions, and alumni networking events. Social Sciences students can access various internship programs. Graduates frequently pursue roles in civil service, local administration, nonprofit organizations, global institutions, education, corporate sectors, media, and military service.
