International Relations examines the interactions between nations and societies across political, military, economic, and cultural boundaries.
Glasgow is gaining recognition for its expertise in international relations research and education, with strengths in global security, conflict studies, and specialized regional focus areas including Russia, Central/Eastern Europe, Latin America, China, and the Middle East. Students gain thorough knowledge of international relations' connection to politics through instruction from distinguished scholars. As with all social sciences, International Relations invites diverse perspectives and discussion. Our teaching approach emphasizes classroom dialogue, with lectures highlighting key concepts followed by in-depth seminar explorations.
This dynamic program equips students for diverse career paths by developing research, analytical, writing, and presentation skills. Graduates commonly pursue roles in government services, local administration, nonprofit organizations, international bodies, education, business, and military sectors.
