The Portuguese program focuses on exploring the languages, literature, and cultures of Brazil, Portugal, and other Portuguese-speaking regions. At Glasgow, students engage in small-group learning with native speakers from both Portugal and Brazil, benefiting from the program's longstanding partnership with the Instituto Camões. The Language Resources Centre provides comprehensive support, featuring top-quality audiovisual, digital, and printed learning materials.
The School of Modern Languages & Cultures provides degree options in French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. While French, German, Italian, and Spanish can be pursued as standalone subjects or combined with others in joint degrees, Portuguese and Russian are exclusively offered as joint programs alongside another discipline.
