The Engineering Doctorate in Sensor and Imaging Systems is a four-year program jointly offered by the universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot-Watt, and Strathclyde. These extended research collaborations enable partner companies to guide and shape a student's research while gaining advantages from the academic research and learning environment.
Unique for its option to compile a thesis from multiple industry-aligned projects, the EngD program prioritizes corporate engagement. Known as Research Engineers, EngD candidates work with at least one industry sponsor, dividing their time between corporate and academic research settings. You'll join a Graduate School committed to offering exceptional student support, with the goal of creating an internationally renowned academic atmosphere that fosters intellectual growth, societal contributions, and the development of future global leaders.
