The Engineering Doctorate in Sensor and Imaging Systems is a four-year program jointly offered by the universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot-Watt, and Strathclyde. These extended research collaborations enable partner companies to guide and shape a student's research while gaining advantages from the academic research and learning environment.
Unique for its option to compile a thesis from multiple industry-aligned projects, the EngD program prioritizes corporate engagement. Known as Research Engineers, EngD candidates work with at least one industry sponsor, dividing their time between corporate and academic research settings.
