Our research and teaching focus on advancing renewable energy technology, pinpointing obstacles to progress, and exploring solutions to overcome them.

Through collaborations with the University of Exeter's Energy Policy Group and our role in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, we conduct extensive policy research across multiple disciplines.

We've contributed to wave energy research by examining policy frameworks, emphasizing the development of cost-effective innovations and the strategies needed for the UK—especially the South West—to build industrial capabilities in marine renewables. This has led to partnerships with organizations like Cornwall Council, Cornwall Development Council, A&P Falmouth, and Cornwall Marine Network.

Our policy studies span diverse areas, and we aim to collaborate with institutions and businesses specializing in various fields to generate impactful, socially meaningful research.
