The Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies operates as a multidisciplinary Area Studies department focused on research and education. Housed in a custom-designed facility, it unites experts across diverse fields including anthropology, archaeology, literature, linguistics, political science, history, sociology, and religious studies. Our scholars work collaboratively both within the Institute and through Exeter's academic networks, while also engaging in national and global research initiatives.
