The Centre for Research in Writing fosters interdisciplinary writing research that bridges methodological, philosophical, and contextual divides. Historically, writing studies have lacked a cohesive progression of empirical, theoretical, and practical knowledge due to diverse research paradigms drawing from cognitive, social, and developmental psychology, sociology, socio-cultural theory, linguistics, literary studies, and creativity theory.
