The Children's Health and Exercise Research Center conducts studies in pediatric exercise science to improve knowledge about how physical activity, exercise, and sports impact health and wellness. Our research aims to optimize these activities for diverse youth populations, from healthy schoolchildren to those with chronic conditions and promising young athletes.
A key focus involves creating child-focused research programs: all tools and methods are specifically developed with children to study children's physiology.
Our innovative approaches have gained global recognition, offering fresh perspectives on children's exercise physiology. Findings have overturned traditional assumptions about youth exercise responses, revealing significant differences from adult physiology and distinct variations between genders.
