Pursuing a PhD in Education at the University of Exeter provides comprehensive training in educational research methodologies, endorsed by the ESRC. As an MPhil/PhD candidate, you'll join a research-focused academic community, learning alongside distinguished experts in their fields.
You'll receive comprehensive guidance encompassing both subject matter and methodological approaches, along with access to personal mentorship. Doctoral candidates actively participate in our academic community, including our annual staff-student conference, external academic events, and our distinguished lecture series.
Our research spans a broad spectrum, from major externally funded initiatives to local partnerships with educators. These projects frequently involve collaboration with top international researchers.
Given our substantial size and methodological flexibility, we provide supervision across numerous educational research domains. We're proud to be among just 31 ESRC-recognized research training centers and one of only 18 institutions awarded ESRC studentship quotas. Additionally, we're the sole provider recognized for four-year PhD programs (both full- and part-time), distance learning, and CASE research training.
