The Renaissance Studies Pathway leverages the department's internationally renowned research in early modern studies, providing specialized knowledge across diverse literary and cultural domains including theater performance contexts, remembrance practices, epistolary traditions, and political-religious verse. Courses in this concentration focus on themes of embodiment and spatiality, exploring topics like gender dynamics, colonial encounters, sexual identities, and conflict through a transnational lens. In the Renaissance Space module, students examine British and Irish works alongside literary texts from North American and South Asian traditions.
