Our MSc Psychology program serves as an intensive conversion course designed for graduates holding degrees in non-psychology disciplines, or for those whose psychology undergraduate degree lacks British Psychological Society accreditation. This one-year program also suits individuals seeking to earn a comprehensive Psychology Degree efficiently.
This master's program not only awards an advanced degree but also qualifies students for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) from the British Psychological Society. The GBC represents the essential academic requirement for professional psychology practice, demonstrating your mastery of psychology at a postgraduate level. This credential enables you to pursue specialized training across all professional psychology fields.
The expertise gained through our Department of Psychology makes graduates highly sought-after by diverse employers.
Alumni of our MSc Psychology program have secured positions including research roles at the Anna Freud Centre, clinical psychology positions within the NHS, child psychology roles at Children First, and academic appointments at the University of Surrey. Graduates have also found success in clinical, educational, and forensic psychology sectors.
Upon completion, students become eligible for our specialized master's programs, research-focused degrees (MSD), or Masters in Research Methods. Our strong research connections, ESRC recognition for outstanding postgraduate training, and status as an accredited Doctoral Training Center provide numerous opportunities, including access to prestigious studentships.
