Our research efforts and academic guidance in MSD Electronic Systems Engineering focus on several key domains: networked audio/video systems, multimedia frameworks and implementations, data transmission and network technologies, radio frequency engineering, wireless communications, radar and electromagnetic systems, signal propagation, visual data processing, and computational imaging. These interdisciplinary initiatives leverage the combined knowledge of our specialists in electronics, computing, mathematics, physics, and psychology.
As one of the UK's most extensive and well-equipped academic departments, we maintain comprehensive digital infrastructure, specialized software tools, and diverse testing apparatus to support our work.
Enrollment in our School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering enables both new graduates and working professionals to acquire fresh competencies or refine current expertise.

Qualification Requirements

You will need a good honours degree and a Masters degree, or equivalent, in a related subject. A well-developed research proposal is also essential. If English is not your first language, then we will require you to have IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, TOEFL IBT 76 overall with minimum component scores: listening 17, reading 18, writing 17, and speaking 20.
