Our MRes Experimental Linguistics program offers customized guidance for aspiring researchers working at the intersection of theoretical and experimental linguistics.
Unlike our MA programs, the MRes curriculum provides greater flexibility with fewer structured courses, focusing primarily on your dissertation and independent research projects. Applicants must submit a preliminary research proposal, and you'll be paired with a supervisor to help select appropriate modules and guide your dissertation work.
Through specialized coursework, you'll acquire skills in research methodology and experimental design necessary for conducting empirical linguistic studies. The program enhances your capacity to create experiments, gather and interpret data, evaluate contemporary experimental research, and master key qualitative and statistical analysis methods.
