You'll have the chance to enroll in our Masters-level research methods courses, building essential research competencies. This MPhil program is available as a 2-year full-time or 4-year part-time option, with an additional year for thesis completion. Some students opt for an MPhil before pursuing a PhD to refine their research abilities and showcase their dedication and time management to prospective supervisors or funding bodies.

The School of Health and Social Care collaborates closely with our Service User Reference Group (SURG), comprising patients, caregivers, and volunteers who openly share their healthcare experiences. Together with SURG, we shape our curriculum to prioritize patient and client needs. SURG members participate in admissions processes and interview panels, helping us identify the most suitable candidates. They also contribute to teaching and research, offering invaluable firsthand perspectives on living with health conditions.
