Our four-year LLB Law with Finance (including foundation year) program helps you build subject expertise while enhancing academic abilities. The foundation year (Year Zero) establishes core competencies to ready you for three subsequent undergraduate years at Essex. Upon completing Year Zero through Essex Pathways Department, you'll advance to Essex Law School to finish your degree.
Legal professionals serving commercial clients benefit greatly from financial market literacy. This LLB program delivers comprehensive legal knowledge spanning domestic and international contexts, alongside financial principles that influence organizational leadership, strategy, and decision-making.
The curriculum covers fundamental legal concepts while offering specialization options in areas like international trade law, banking regulations, corporate law, and commercial contracts. Through Bloomberg terminal access, you'll work with live financial data to bridge theory and practice, honing your ability to interpret market information. The program includes practical exercises like share price forecasting, asset portfolio construction, and market trend analysis.
At Essex, we go beyond training exceptional legal and business professionals. We inspire students to champion justice while developing the capabilities to drive meaningful change across any career path.
From day one, we encourage strategic career thinking. During your first two years, alongside legal studies, you'll complete career development modules to identify strengths, understand employer expectations, and boost professional readiness.
Our annual law fair connects students with legal firms and certification providers. Graduates enter diverse fields including legal practice, business, finance, government, education, social services, and law enforcement.
