Our Integrated Masters program offers one of the UK's most comprehensive and engaging approaches to studying the human mind, blending thorough psychological coverage with advanced research methodology training. The curriculum merges elements from existing courses while elevating research skills to an expert level.

Psychologists perform experiments to examine cognitive functions like social perception, decision-making, memory, and speech. Cognitive Neuroscientists connect these inquiries directly to neural mechanisms, employing brain imaging to identify supporting brain regions and temporal imaging to pinpoint process timing. Both disciplines collaborate to chart the connections between neural activity and behavior.

You'll explore current research topics across various domains including visual perception, auditory processing, memory systems, and linguistic functions. The program fosters deep insight into investigative approaches, current scientific knowledge, optimal methodologies for specific questions, and interdisciplinary collaboration to tackle seemingly simple yet profoundly complex inquiries. You'll experience a nurturing, participatory learning environment with practical, systematic training.

Feed your intellectual curiosity by studying with pioneering researchers at psychology's forefront. Essex adopts an integrative methodology, transcending conventional limits to merge diverse specialties and exchange groundbreaking techniques and compelling theories.
