Our integrated master's program (MSci) equips you with expertise across two nursing specialties: Adult and Mental Health. You'll dedicate your initial three years to mastering one nursing discipline, with the opportunity to transition to the MSci pathway as you approach the conclusion of year three. The fourth and final year shifts focus to the complementary specialty, empowering you to address patients' complex physical and mental health requirements across diverse healthcare environments.
This four-year full-time MSci program mirrors the teaching methodologies of our BSc Nursing programs, incorporating workshops, seminars, and simulated practice sessions. The School of Health and Social Care maintains robust partnerships with industry leaders, enriching your education through insights from experienced practitioners and individuals with firsthand healthcare experiences. BSc Nursing students can seamlessly join the program after their third year (subject to academic performance), while MSci participants retain the option to exit before the final qualifying year.
Available at both Colchester and Southend campuses, this dual registration program provides access to varied clinical placements across hospital trusts, community services, and private healthcare organizations. Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), successful graduates qualify for dual registration as both Adult and Mental Health Nurses.
