Our program provides a three-year guided research pathway for students who possess strong familiarity with current field research and solid methodological skills.
We provide doctoral supervision in Psycholinguistics and Neurolinguistics, specializing in first language acquisition and language processing studies.
Potential PhD research topics range from examining infant word segmentation patterns to exploring bilingual infants' lexical development, as well as studying phonological and morphological representations in both adult and child lexicons.
With the wide range of specializations available in our Language and Linguistics Department, our graduates pursue diverse career paths based on their focus areas. Many PhD alumni enter academic careers as university lecturers or researchers. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of our linguistics programs, graduates may find positions in departments spanning English, linguistics, education, sociology, or cognitive science fields.
