Our BSc Sports Therapy program prepares future sports therapists to excel in their field. This comprehensive course equips you with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to succeed in diverse professional environments. Combining hands-on training with classroom instruction, the curriculum covers essential areas including:Preventing sports injuriesAssessing athletic injuriesTreating and managing injuriesRehabilitation techniquesFoundational concepts in physiology, psychology, biomechanics, and nutritionClinical decision-making and evidence-based approachesThrough our Sports Therapy Clinic and partnerships with sports organizations, you'll complete 200-250 hours of clinical practice. These experiences allow you to refine your skills, build professional relationships, and enhance career opportunities. Additional practical training is available at our Human Performance Unit, working with athletes and community members. Students receive a £250 travel grant for external placements.As part of the School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences, you'll join a vibrant community spanning sports science, therapy, coaching, psychology, and physiotherapy. Our expert faculty integrate cutting-edge research with practical applications across these disciplines.We provide an exceptional student experience in a dynamic, supportive environment with ample opportunities to explore personal interests.International study optionsExpand your horizons by spending a term or year at one of our partner universities worldwide. Our four-year degree option includes this international experience while maintaining the same curriculum as the three-year program.Extended placement opportunitiesIn addition to the required clinical hours, you can opt for a year-long placement with sports organizations between your second and final year. These immersive experiences let you apply classroom learning in real-world settings while developing professional competencies.

Qualification Requirements

GCSE: Mathematics and Science C/4 A-levels: ABB, including one science subject or Mathematics (PE and Psychology count as science A-levels) BTEC: DDD, depending on subject and units studied - advice on acceptability can be provided. IB: 32 points or three Higher Level certificates with 655, including Higher Level Science or Mathematics grade 5, and Standard Level Mathematics and Science grade 4, if not taken at Higher Level. We will accept grade 4 in either Standard Level Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches or Standard Level Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation. We are also happy to consider a combination of separate IB Diploma Programmes at both Higher and Standard Level. Please note that Maths in the IB is not required if you have already achieved GCSE Maths at grade C/4 or above or 4 in IB Middle Years Maths. Exact offer levels will vary depending on the range of subjects being taken at higher and standard level, and the course applied for. Please contact the Undergraduate Admissions Office for more information. Access to HE Diploma:15 Level 3 credits at Distinction and 30 level 3 credits at Merit, depending on subject and units studied - advice on acceptability can be provided. We also consider T-levels. IELTS - 6.0 overall TOEFL IBT - 76 overall, with a minimum of 18 in reading, 17 in listening, 20 in speaking and 17 in writing
