Our BSc Sports Therapy program prepares future sports therapists to excel in their field. This comprehensive course equips you with practical skills and theoretical knowledge to succeed in diverse professional environments. Combining hands-on training with classroom instruction, the curriculum covers essential areas including:Preventing sports injuriesAssessing athletic injuriesTreating and managing injuriesRehabilitation techniquesFoundational concepts in physiology, psychology, biomechanics, and nutritionClinical decision-making and evidence-based approachesThrough our Sports Therapy Clinic and partnerships with sports organizations, you'll complete 200-250 hours of clinical practice. These experiences allow you to refine your skills, build professional relationships, and enhance career opportunities. Additional practical training is available at our Human Performance Unit, working with athletes and community members. Students receive a £250 travel grant for external placements.As part of the School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences, you'll join a vibrant community spanning sports science, therapy, coaching, psychology, and physiotherapy. Our four-year degree option includes this international experience while maintaining the same curriculum as the three-year program.Extended placement opportunitiesIn addition to the required clinical hours, you can opt for a year-long placement with sports organizations between your second and final year. These immersive experiences let you apply classroom learning in real-world settings while developing professional competencies.
