Physiotherapy is an evidence-based healthcare field focused on enhancing, implementing, assessing, and refining the scientific foundations of its methods. Practitioners take a holistic approach to optimize patients' mobility and functional abilities. This means physiotherapists not only support individuals in maintaining independence following illness or injury but also promote wellness across all age groups by preventing disease and alleviating pain.
Active patient participation is fundamental to this methodology, requiring physiotherapists to demonstrate essential skills like empowering patients, building rapport, and providing education to foster positive health outcomes. As independent practitioners, they can serve as primary care providers or collaborate with other medical professionals through referrals. A critical aspect of their work involves making sound clinical assessments and interpreting medical data effectively.

Graduates of our BSc Physiotherapy program qualify to register with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), enabling practice in the UK, and gain full membership eligibility with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
