The immense variety of life presents countless study and career possibilities, and at Essex, we provide the freedom to tailor your degree to your passions. Your introductory year covers fundamental concepts in cellular and molecular biology, genetics, ecology, and evolution, along with an examination of animal, plant, and microbial diversity. The Integrative Biology track enables you to select modules from various fields, while you also have the option to focus on Molecular and Cell Biology or Ecology and Conservation Biology if you prefer specialization.
The need for skilled biologists keeps increasing, and our program prepares you with sought-after analytical and computational abilities. Alumni have pursued diverse careers at organizations like GlaxoSmithKline, the Sainsbury Laboratory (University of Cambridge), ALS Laboratories, the NHS, Suffolk County Council, Essex Wildlife Trust, and Natural England.
