Actuarial science equips you with the skills to transform risks into possibilities. Professionals in this field evaluate financial security systems, analyzing their intricate mathematics, mechanisms, and complexities. Graduates enjoy competitive entry-level salaries, typically starting above £30,000.
Our BSc Actuarial Science programme invites you to explore your enthusiasm for mathematics and applied problem-solving. Combining rigorous mathematical foundations, insights into real-world financial challenges, and technical computing abilities, we equip you with the fundamental competencies needed to launch an actuarial career. You'll master the theoretical frameworks and practical techniques employed by actuaries to mitigate financial risks in high-stakes sectors like insurance, finance, government, and commerce.

Graduates of our BSc Actuarial Science typically pursue actuarial roles across various sectors. According to the US Department of Labor, demand for actuaries is projected to outpace most other professions, presenting excellent graduate employment prospects.
Beyond actuarial positions, the analytical skills developed through mathematics open doors to diverse career paths. The Council for Mathematical Sciences provides additional guidance on mathematics-related careers.
