Our BSc Accounting (including foundation year) is available to both Home and EU students. This program is ideal if your current qualifications don't meet the entry criteria for the standard three-year course and you're seeking a curriculum that enhances both your subject expertise and academic abilities.

Spanning four years, this course begins with a foundation year (Year Zero), followed by three years of specialized study. In Year Zero, you'll explore four academic subjects aligned with your chosen field, building a strong foundation for undergraduate studies while completing a mandatory module in English language and academic skills.

From the very first day, you'll join Essex University's vibrant global community, studying at the UK's most internationally diverse campus.

Upon successfully completing Year Zero through our Essex Pathways Department, you'll advance to Essex Business School to finish your degree. We view accounting as more than just number-crunching—it's a crucial tool for promoting accountability and ethical decision-making in business.

Through our accounting program, you'll develop a robust understanding of the financial principles that drive business leadership, strategy, governance, and ethics. The curriculum covers both financial and management accounting, using real-world case studies to bridge theory and practice—skills that are becoming increasingly valuable to employers.
