Our BSc Computers with Electronics program merges computer science and electronics studies without requiring A-level mathematics, offering an excellent opportunity to explore computer hardware, software, operating systems, and digital design.
Modern life relies heavily on computing, electronics, and telecommunications, with these fields becoming increasingly interconnected. Breakthroughs in electronics have enabled the internet, cutting-edge telecommunications, and affordable computing devices. Our approach blends technical expertise with creative thinking across both disciplines.
As part of an academic community at the forefront of technological innovation, today's computer scientists combine focused dedication with experimental curiosity.
Both government and industry leaders express growing concerns about potential shortages of skilled professionals to meet IT sector demands.

Essex computer science graduates enjoy strong employment prospects, securing roles as systems analysts, software engineers, programmers, and systems engineers, while others pursue advanced studies or research careers.

We maintain extensive industry connections with organizations specializing in media robotics, vehicle diagnostics, and intelligent camera systems, providing our students with mentorship, internships, and career opportunities.
