What shapes our identity and personality? Are emotions just as powerful as logical thinking in driving our actions? How can we explain our more unusual urges and longings? Is there meaning behind every behavior—even when it seems illogical? Psychoanalysis represents a multidisciplinary domain that combines decades of theoretical exploration and clinical practice, forming its understanding of the mind, emotions, social dynamics, motivation, psychological disorders, and therapeutic approaches. To grasp human experience fully, we must examine not just outward actions and relationships but also the hidden forces beneath the surface. This course explores the psychological elements affecting our emotions, behaviors, and interpersonal connections, influencing our daily existence. You'll study psychodynamic theories, applying them to individuals, relationships, and organizations, while delving into the groundbreaking contributions of Freud, Jung, and Lacan. Some key questions we'll address include: What draws us to specific types of partners while making others difficult to connect with?
