Our History Department boasts exceptional research and teaching standards, with most work recognized as world-class or internationally significant (REF 2014). We maintain close ties with the Essex Record Office, among Britain's finest regional archives. Student feedback reflects our success: 97% of history students reported overall satisfaction (NSS 2018).
