East 15 Acting School's BA Physical Theatre program trains performers to excel in the realm of physical and visual storytelling beyond conventional stage and screen productions. Our curriculum blends vigorous acting instruction with collaborative creation, delivering both classic British drama school foundations and contemporary European performance techniques.
We seek passionate performers and creators dedicated to physical expression, innovative productions, and fresh interpretations of classical texts while maintaining traditional acting theory.
Students develop diverse skills through disciplines like aerial circus, devised narratives, mask work, mime, puppetry, and clowning. This foundation is strengthened by essential training in acting, vocal techniques, singing, and movement, preparing students to develop groundbreaking productions and reinterpret classic works for audiences.
Beyond acting careers in theater, film, and television worldwide, our BA Physical Theatre alumni have pursued careers as puppeteers, aerial artists, street performers, and clowns, while others have established their own theater companies producing acclaimed works like 'Outbound Project', 'Ditto', 'Moth Physical Theatre', and 'Project Lockout'.
Graduates currently appear in productions including 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child', 'Life of Pi', 'War Horse', and 'A Comedy About a Bank Robbery', collaborating with renowned organizations like the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre, The Globe, West Yorkshire Playhouse, and international companies such as La Fura Dels Baus and the National Theatre of Scotland.
