The OPENspace research centre champions inclusive access to outdoor environments:
Investigating how public spaces, urban parks, forests, and natural landscapes enhance quality of life. Our research highlights the advantages of outdoor engagement while addressing accessibility challenges faced by diverse communities, especially marginalized populations.
Developing landscape solutions tailored for children, adolescents, seniors, and various demographic groups.
Studying health-promoting environments (the therapeutic potential of specific landscapes) and analyzing connections between nature exposure and wellbeing.
Examining environmental perception through empirical studies on human-place interactions.
The PhD program involves three years of full-time study (or six years part-time) with specialized supervision in Landscape Architecture, culminating in a 100,000-word thesis.
The MPhil program requires two years of full-time study (or four years part-time) with expert guidance, concluding with a 60,000-word thesis.
Regular supervisory meetings ensure focused research development throughout your studies.
Participation in research methodology training is recommended at the program's outset.
Annual progress evaluations are mandatory for all enrolled students.
