The Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences (CDBS) conducts research across molecular, cellular, systems, and behavioral scales to uncover core mechanisms and pathways involved in brain and body function during both normal and diseased states.

CDBS researchers leverage cutting-edge technologies in genomics, proteomics, imaging, data science, and live organism studies to examine gene product functions at cellular, organ, and whole-organism levels. They employ optimal model organisms - balancing biomedical relevance (like humans, mice, rats) with genetic tractability (such as C. elegans, fruit flies, or zebrafish).

Their work centers on deciphering fundamental biological processes that influence human health and disease throughout the lifespan.
