This doctoral program offers an intensive research opportunity, allowing students to pursue independent, thorough investigations into their chosen subject while producing novel and meaningful additions to counselling and psychotherapy knowledge.
The field emphasizes qualitative, reflective, and critically analytical research methods, with specialized strengths in practitioner-led studies rooted in therapeutic practice, client experiences, and narrative, self-reflective, and auto-ethnographic techniques.
We particularly welcome research exploring the connections between therapeutic practices and broader societal, cultural, and political contexts.
Our research spans multiple disciplines, blending ideas, methodologies, and scholarship from psychotherapy, psychology, sociology, philosophy, education, cultural studies, healthcare, social services, and other social science fields.
