This MSc in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry delves into biomolecules' functions in life processes, disease mechanisms, and biotechnological applications through a chemical lens.

Students will develop comprehensive knowledge of biological molecules' structures, characteristics, roles, uses, and modifications - ranging from macromolecules to cellular systems. The curriculum also covers innovative drug design in lab settings and their clinical applications, alongside the chemical principles of synthetic compounds including their architecture, behavior, examination, and production.

With substantial hands-on components and ongoing evaluation, the program features an intensive laboratory research project that offers students authentic experience in investigating medicinal or biological chemistry subjects.

Qualification Requirements

A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in chemistry, or a closely related discipline, with a strong chemistry component.
We may also consider a UK 2:2 honours degree, or its international equivalent, with relevant work experience and supportive references.

IELTS Academic: total 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each component.
TOEFL-iBT (including Home Edition): total 92 with at least 20 in each component. We do not accept TOEFL MyBest Score to meet our English language requirements.
