Grasping plant diversity and resources has become increasingly crucial. Amidst the growing threats of climate change and ecosystem decline, thorough plant knowledge and habitat understanding are vital for successful environmental monitoring and protection.

This collaborative program is offered by the University alongside the prestigious Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE). The RBGE boasts one of the planet's finest living plant collections (15,000 species across four locations, representing five percent of known global species), a herbarium containing three million preserved samples, and one of Britain's most extensive botanical libraries.

RBGE provides exceptional biodiversity research possibilities using its collections, spanning numerous organisms and global areas. This remarkable variety, combined with RBGE's cutting-edge research, creates an unmatched master's program in plant biodiversity.
