Your studies will cover: connections between people and communities, questions of identity and belonging, social roots of collaboration and disagreement, and the evolution of societies and institutions through history.
The program also develops your ability to analyze various cultural settings and interpret modern social challenges from an international viewpoint.
At the University of Edinburgh, our faculty conducts diverse research projects and incorporates their findings into teaching. By joining us, you'll engage with multiple sociological perspectives, theories, and methodologies.

Year 2- Focus shifts to sociological theory development and research application, with four program-specific elective courses. Year 3- Practical research training includes collaborative projects and social theory examination. Electives address diverse themes like environmental risk, globalization, digital society, and youth subcultures.
