Politics examines the principles and implementation of societal governance.
How do political systems establish shared regulations? Who holds the authority to shape these rules, and what impacts do political choices have? What defines an equitable society, and what pathways lead us toward it?
Leveraging insights from top scholars and field experts, you'll investigate the roots and contemporary manifestations of disputes surrounding authority, civic engagement, and resource allocation.
Your studies will encompass not just governing mechanisms across local, national, and global scales, but also the ethical dimensions of political conduct, along with the boundaries of liberty and fairness.

The standard entry requirement is:
SQA Highers: AAAAA-AAAA (achievement by end of S5 preferred). BBB must be achieved in one year of S4-S5.
A Levels: A*AA - AAB.
IB: 39 points with 666 at HL - 36 points with 665 at HL.
Minimum entry requirement
The minimum entry requirement for widening access applicants is:
SQA Highers: ABBB by end of S6. BBB must be achieved in one year of S4-S5.
A Levels: ABB.
IB: 34 points with 655 at HL.
IELTS Academic module overall 6.5 with 5.5 in each component.
TOEFL-iBT (including Special Home Edition) 92 or above with 20 in each section. We do not accept TOEFL MyBest Score to meet our English language requirements.
