Research in this field is driven by two primary goals. First, it seeks to comprehend natural intelligence by developing computational models. Second, it aims to create methods and tools for designing systems that can make smart choices and perform intelligent tasks. As a result, AI serves as both a scientific field and a practical engineering domain.
AI applications vary from intelligent home appliance controllers to systems that can communicate in English, participate in games, perform sophisticated online searches, or function as robotic control centers.
