Music represents a profoundly varied and multifaceted field. It serves as both an artistic endeavor and a cultural force, while also offering opportunities for scientific exploration. Our BMus curriculum celebrates this wide-ranging scope. In the beginning stages, you'll cultivate your musical creativity while gaining analytical frameworks to examine diverse musical styles and formats. The program also explores music's reciprocal relationship with societal, cultural, historical, and political contexts, alongside introducing music psychology and its healing applications. The BMus offers adaptable study options for students with varying musical backgrounds. You can customize your academic journey to align with your musical passions and talents. Potential pathways include focusing on music's cultural and historical dimensions, specializing in composition or performance, or combining music studies with other disciplines - with options to take up to half your courses in non-music subjects during Years 1-2, and one-third in Years 3-4. Performance students receive yearly funding for instrumental lessons.
