This program is provided by the Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture (ESALA). Students initially enroll in the MA (Hons) Architecture program. After completing Year 2, they can select between pathways offering either faster progression or wider academic exploration—choosing between a three-year BA Architecture or a four-year MA (Hons) Architecture, which includes an option for an international exchange year. Both programs reflect the teaching, research, and professional experience of their dedicated faculty. Learners join a vibrant artistic and scholarly community, guided by design instructors with practical and specialized knowledge, complemented by top-tier workshops and technical resources. Design approaches emerge from engaging with Edinburgh's distinctive architectural heritage, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to cultivate a comprehensive view of architecture's role in culture and society, enriched by current discussions in fields like landscape design, construction, urban planning, economics, politics, and ethical practice.
