MRes Business Management and Social Justice in London United Kingdom | University of East London

This program combines advanced research expertise with instruction in research advocacy and applying research for social justice objectives. Designed to develop approaches and frameworks to confront and overcome systemic inequalities in UK and global communities - including within academic and research institutions - this MRes focuses on individuals from the Global Majority. It particularly supports students from underrepresented groups in research careers who hold an undergraduate degree and seek postgraduate qualifications in Creative Arts, Business Management, Bioscience, or Social Sciences to promote equity in an unstable world. The Global Majority encompasses those with recent ancestry from the Global South (Africa, South Asia, South America) and other non-white ethnic backgrounds.
Participants will receive rigorous, unique training to help outstanding researchers harness their skills to generate meaningful impact and progressive societal transformation.
Instruction comes from diverse faculty members who are all distinguished researchers in their respective disciplines. Independent learning: outside scheduled sessions, students will engage in self-directed study through guided readings, developing research briefs, designing media campaigns (both social and traditional), and analyzing reports.
The curriculum prepares students to conduct advanced research within their specialization while adapting findings for various stakeholders, including collaborative work with research consumers. Graduates will assemble a portfolio showcasing their capacity to align research with organizational requirements and effectively communicate research methodologies and results to diverse audiences.
