The MA/MFA Fashion program centers on the idea of designers as trailblazers, discovering and cultivating new frontiers beyond the current boundaries of the industry. At its core, the program provides a platform for creative thinkers to envision fashion's future while honing their skills to emerge as industry leaders and innovators.
Based on their chosen degree path, students will progress through 6 to 8 modules designed to help them critically evaluate their initial research, refine their conceptual and technical approach, and create a professional portfolio showcasing their development. This work will demonstrate original, self-directed research within the field.
This two-year program emphasizes research, creative practice development, and interdisciplinary projects in the first year, culminating in a comprehensive research initiative during the second year. The major research project will blend multiple interdisciplinary perspectives through practical applications, academic inquiry, and real-world projects, incorporating both foundational and modern theories from diverse fields like design, innovation, and business.
The curriculum combines seminars, workshops, residencies, industry collaborations, and visits to cultural institutions and community organizations, ensuring a learning experience that's both internationally relevant and locally grounded.
Our fashion faculty includes experienced industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and business owners, guaranteeing up-to-date, practical education that aligns with current industry standards and prepares students for their future careers.
Outside scheduled classes, students are expected to engage in independent study to further their learning.
Our alumni have successfully established themselves as designers, pattern cutters, fashion technologists, and retail managers. As graduate Lucy Johnson, founder of streetwear brand Brahboys, reflects: "It was an unforgettable journey that I'd wholeheartedly recommend to anyone pursuing a fashion career."
