Our MEng Mechanical Engineering program enhances your technical expertise while equipping you with essential business knowledge to excel as a professional engineering manager. You'll master the foundational skills from the BEng program while gaining advanced technical proficiency, representing the pinnacle of undergraduate engineering education. Through case studies, hands-on labs, and problem-solving projects, you'll develop initiative and take ownership of your learning.
You can opt to expand your studies to five years by incorporating a one-year industry placement between your second and third academic years.
In your third year, you'll participate in a Team Project, followed by a final-year dissertation focused on industry-relevant topics. Throughout the program, you'll engage with leading corporations and sector experts through site visits, internships, and guest lectures at UEL.
Your coursework will blend individual assignments with collaborative group work, all designed to enhance your employability.
With its strong management focus, this program prepares you to lead in mechanical engineering, equipping you to work with diverse clients and employers ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations and government agencies.

Qualification Requirements

120 UCAS points from an equivalent Level 3 qualification listed on the
UCAS tariff calculator, including:
A Levels in at least two subjects including Mathematics, Physics or Electronics
BTEC Extended Diploma DDM
BTEC Diploma DD
International Baccalaureate 24 points including a minimum of 16 points at Higher Level, must include Mathematics and Physics at Higher Level
We also welcome applications from students who are taking Level 3 or higher qualifications not on the UCAS tariff calculator and will assess the suitability, on a case by case basis.

All suitable applicants are required to attend an interview.

In addition to one of the above, you should have:
GCSE English Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in English
GCSE Mathematics Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics
International Qualifications
We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications.
Overall Academic IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking, minimum 5.5 in Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
