The MA in Architecture and Urbanism continues UEL's tradition of pioneering computational form generation, drawing inspiration from the groundbreaking work of the late Paul Coates, a former senior lecturer. This program integrates parametric and object-oriented design approaches with cutting-edge rapid manufacturing and visualization technologies offered by the school.
Designed to broaden or focus your professional skills, this intensive one-year program will advance your expertise in computational design, digital fabrication, or urban planning, giving your career a significant boost.
Tailored for architecture graduates seeking specialization in digital design innovation, the course also welcomes professionals from related built environment fields including urban planning, engineering, and design.
Organized across three terms, the program adopts a comprehensive digital architecture and urban design approach, employing systemic design principles that incorporate sophisticated concept development, contextual evaluation, program management, and performance analysis for superior multidisciplinary coordination.
You'll experience digital design as a team-based process, mastering the interdisciplinary collaboration essential in modern architectural practice. The curriculum emphasizes advanced 3D modeling and BIM methodologies as fundamental research tools.
Under the guidance of Dr. Fulvio Wirz, UEL's MA program director and former Zaha Hadid Architects associate, along with Barbara Zandavali (Bartlett School of Architecture graduate), students will receive expert instruction in digital fabrication techniques.
Perfect for both practicing professionals and recent graduates looking to expand their built environment knowledge, this program will:
Transform your architectural practice by opening new professional pathways.
Enhance your understanding of current global architectural trends while refining your critical design and analytical abilities.
Provide specialized knowledge to propel your career forward in innovative directions.
